Cornerback Dre Bly was out of football last year after getting cut by the Lions, but the soon-to-be 34-year-old hasn’t given up on his NFL career. He’s been working out with the Lions this week in an attempt to stay in shape and possibly return to the league.

Safety Louis Delmas thinks the Lions should bring Bly back into the fold.

“He might be 85 years old, but he can still keep up with us,” Delmas told James Schmehl of MLive.com. “Having him join our team would be very complimentary to our secondary.”

Bly is the type of player that could be helped out by the lockout. Let’s say there are only three weeks between the end of the work stoppage and Week One. Veterans that know how to quickly learn a playbook without getting embarrassed may take some jobs from late-round rookies.

Perhaps Dre can be Dre once again.
