Manning benched two quarters after setting NFL record

Peyton Manning

From record holder to clipboard holder. That’s Peyton Manning’s Sunday.

Manning broke the NFL’s all-time passing yardage record with his first completion of the day. But with the Broncos trailing the Chiefs 22-0 and Manning having thrown 4 interceptions, he was benched in the third quarter.

Brock Osweiler took over at quarterback.

Manning was 5-of-20 for 35 yards before the benching. His quarterback rating was 0.0.

The Broncos started 7-0 but are on their way to their second straight loss.
