San Diego Chargers linebacker Manti Te’o fractured his right foot Sunday in the team’s 22-10 victory over the Buffalo Bills and is out indefinitely.
It’s just another injury to Te’o’s foot that has kept him sidelined during his first two years in the league.
According to Bernie Wilson of the Associated Press, Te’o said he’s “frustrated and devastated” by yet another setback.
“It’s definitely frustrating for me,” Te’o said. “I felt that I’m just getting started. I was starting to feel comfortable and starting to have a level of comfort there where I was able to go out there and make plays and be out there with the team.
“But when I heard the news it was definitely frustrating and devastating for me that I couldn’t be out there with my guys.”
Te’o missed the first three games of 2013 due to a separate foot injury and missed time this preseason due to a sprained left foot. Te’o and head coach Mike McCoy did not provide many specifics on the injury but Te’o said he intends on being back this season.
Te’o’s 18 tackles are tied with safety Eric Weddle for most on the team through three weeks.
