One scenario that has been floated as teams jockey for position in the race for Los Angeles has been for the Raiders to move to St. Louis to replace the Rams so Stan Kroenke can take his franchise to Inglewood, Calif.
But Raiders owner Mark Davis shut down any possibility of that scenario on Tuesday.
“There is no interest in St. Louis,” Davis said on Tuesday at the NFL owners meetings in San Francisco, via Scott Bair of CSNBayArea.com.
Davis wishes to keep the Raiders in Oakland, though a significant gap in the funding of a new stadium in the Bay Area remains a looming problem. If a deal can’t be reached in Oakland, the Raiders are working towards a stadium plan with the San Diego Chargers in Carson, Calif.
The Raiders have options. St. Louis isn’t one of them.
