Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Matt Bryant, who played four days after his infant son died, has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Bryant made all three of his field goal attempts on Sunday against the Packers, connecting from 23, 36 and 24 yards. The 24-yard kick gave the Bucs a 23-21 lead with 2:26 remaining. Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden said after the game, “I can’t say enough about Matt Bryant and what he’s been through and what he’s done today. What a great performance under the circumstances.” Bryant is perfect on field goals and extra points this season. Buccaneers linebacker Derrick Brooks was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
