Jets defensive lineman Mike DeVito appears to have piqued the interest of several teams, according to multiple reports published Saturday.
Per Rich Cimini of ESPN New York, the Jets want to strike a deal with DeVito before free-agent signings can commence on Tuesday. Cimini reported that a “handful of teams” had looked into DeVito.
Conor Orr of the Newark Star-Ledger reported that six teams have “inquired” about the 28-year-old DeVito, who started 15 games for the Jets in 2012.
A defensive tackle in the Jets’ 3-4 front, the 6-foot-3, 305-pound DeVito has recorded more than 50 tackles in two of the last three seasons. He became a regular starter in 2010.
