Panthers right tackle Mike Remmers signed his restricted free agent tender on Tuesday, setting himself up to make $2.553 million while trying to help the Panthers replicate their success from last season.
One place where he and the team would surely like to see things play out differently would be in their final game of the season. The Panthers lost Super Bowl 50 24-10 to the Broncos with Remmers having a rough day trying to block Broncos linebacker and eventual Super Bowl MVP Von Miller.
It was as bad a day as Remmers had all season and he said he hasn’t watched a full replay of a game he doesn’t expect to forget about anytime soon.
“It’s unfortunate,” Remmers said on Tuesday, via the Charlotte Observer. “I’ll be kicking myself the rest of my life about that game. But it’s behind me, and there’s nothing I can do about it now except to learn and grow from it. I think that’s exactly what I’ve done. I’m going to continue to grow from this experience and looking forward to starting next season.”
Remmers will get some competition from 2015 fourth-rounder Daryl Williams, but Remmers’ overall body of work last year was solid enough that you’d expect him to show off what he’s learned from the same spot he was in at the end of last season.
