Free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins’ stint working with the Patriots was a short one.
Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel said today that Hopkins is no longer working with the team after spending the last few days helping the coaching and personnel staff. Vrabel said Hopkins, who previously played for Vrabel in Tennessee, was a good presence during his brief time in New England.
“It was a great experience,” Vrabel said. “Hop’s not here, but it was a great experience for all of us. That’s what we try to do when we have some of these unique situations where a player or former player or whatever it might be wants to come in and help and learn and they love football, and I think it was good for everybody.”
The 34-year-old Hopkins has said he has a lot of football left and hopes to sign with a contender at some point this season.
