While Teddy Bridgewater apparently wasn’t healthy enough to play against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night after suffering an ankle injury last week against the Atlanta Falcons.
However, Bridgewater’s time on the sidelines will be short.
According to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said after the loss to Green Bay that Bridgewater will start next week’s game at home against the Detroit Lions.
Zimmer said that the decision on Bridgewater wasn’t made until today but he just wasn’t ready to play against the Packers.
Christian Ponder started in Bridgewater’s place against Green Bay and completed just 22 of 44 passes for 222 yards with two interceptions and a rushing touchdown. The Vikings signed Chandler Harnish to their active roster Tuesday as insurance with Bridgewater out.
