Rams pass rusher Myles Garrett remained out of practice Tuesday, the 12th practice he has missed with minor knee swelling.
Yet, Rams coach Sean McVay continues to downplay the two-time Defensive Player of the Year’s absence.
“The goal is, what can we do to be able to get him ready to roll for Australia?” McVay said, via Benjamin Royer of the ocregister.com.
Garrett played all 17 games each of the past two seasons with the Browns, and he has missed only four games over the past six seasons.
Garrett, who the Rams acquired in a blockbuster offseason trade with the Browns, set the NFL’s single-season sacks record with 23 last season. He has 125.5 sacks in his nine NFL seasons.
Wide receiver Puka Nacua (hip flexor) and offensive lineman Keagen Trost (hamstring) also did not practice on Tuesday.
Tight end Terrance Ferguson worked on the side with an athletic trainer, and offensive lineman Alaric Jackson missed practice for a personal matter that McVay said is “nothing to worry about.”
