Patriots left tackle Nate Solder’s status for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins was uncertain right up until the weekend, but he wound up getting cleared from last week’s concussion and started against the Dolphins.
He won’t be finishing. Solder has returned to the locker room with members of the Patriots’ medical staff. The team has announced that it is a head injury and that Solder will not return. Logan Mankins has moved to left tackle for the Pats and Josh Kline is in at left guard, an alignment that will have to stop a Dolphins pass rush that spoiled a Patriots red zone drive just after Solder was injured.
The Pats settled for a Stephen Gostkowski field goal, cutting Miami’s lead to 17-13. The Dolphins grabbed the lead with 10 third quarter points after Gostkowski missed a field goal as they continue to find good success moving the ball against the New England defense. Ryan Tannehill threw a touchdown to Daniel Thomas and Mike Wallace has six catches for 105 yards as the Dolphins fight for a playoff spot in the AFC.
