NFL says “miscommunication” led to RG3 being told to cover brace
Robert Griffin III was told by a league official to cover his knee brace during Monday night’s game. But the NFL now says Griffin should not have been told that.
An NFL spokesman told CSNWashington.com that Griffin was told to cover his knee brace as a result of a “miscommunication”.
The spokesman said players have the option of wearing knee braces either inside or outside their uniform pants.
It’s not clear why a league official was telling Griffin to cover up his brace if that league official hadn’t bothered to learn the rules regarding players wearing braces. And it’s nor surprising that Griffin (who was previously hit with a $10,000 fine for wearing an unauthorized shirt) is frustrated.
But in the future, Griffin can wear his brace the way he wants.
