One AFC East center won’t be going to Hawaii for this year’s Pro Bowl and another one will be taking his place in the game.
Nick Mangold is now the fourth member of the Jets to be selected to the game. He’ll be replacing Mike Pouncey, who missed the final two Dolphins games of the season with a foot injury.
It’s the seventh time that Mangold has been selected to the game and his inclusion comes after a typically strong year in the middle of the Jets offensive line. The seventh selection breaks a tie with Kevin Mawae for the most Pro Bowl trips for any Jets center and leaves Mangold one behind tackle Winston Hill for the most all-star selections in franchise history, although four of Hill’s appearances came when the Jets were still in the AFL.
Wide receiver Brandon Marshall, cornerback Darrelle Revis and defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson were also picked for the game, although Wilkerson is surely going to be replaced after having surgery on the broken leg he suffered last Sunday.
