Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco, in a rollicking interview with Dan Patrick aimed at promoting Chad’s dating show that debuts Sunday night on VH1 (our proposed new slogan: “at least Jim Gray won’t be interviewing me”), made a pair of bold predictions for the coming year.
For starters, Ocho said he’ll get his uno Super Bowl ring. “It will be this year,” he said.
Then, the dancer formerly known as Johnson put his tongue in his cheek and said that, once the football season ends, he’ll join the Miami Heat.
“I might be the first player to get two rings in one year,” Chad said.
His comment sparked a debate regarding his height. Ochocinco is listed at six-feet, one-inch. He claimed on the air that he’s six-three. (I got close enough to him at the Super Bowl to conclude that he’s closer to five-eleven.)
Ochocinco also proclaimed that, with the departure of LeBron James, Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer is now the most famous athlete in Ohio.
Chad also explained that he’s genuinely looking for love (specifically, a wife) in his new unreality show.
“I don’t have nobody to cook for me,” he said. “I don’t have nobody to go to McDonald’s with, or to take to the high-end restaurants like Red Lobster.”
Given those parameters, Patrick suggested Lindsay Lohan.
Said Chad, “I don’t have time for nobody in rehab.”
We’d forgotten how funny Ochocinco can be, and we encourage giving a listen to the podcast once it’s posted at Dan’s website. We’re not yet prepared, however, to suggest that anyone watch his show.
