The Packers had veteran running back Joique Bell in for a workout Tuesday, PFT has confirmed.

Prior reports said that the Packers, who have played with only one true running back at times over the last several weeks due to injury issues, had planned to sign Bell. No transaction has been announced.

Bell had been the Lions’ starting running back at times over the last two seasons but was limited by injuries and was released in the offseason. He spent some time with the Bears earlier this season, playing a limited role in four games. Bell has 22 career rushing touchdowns.

The Packers also worked out two other running backs, James Wilder Jr. and Brandon Wegher, in addition to defensive back Brandon Dixon and defensive end Arthur Miley.

Wegher went to camp with the Panthers. He was released in September and has been on the workout circuit. Wilder spent time with the Bengals on their practice squad and offseason roster the last two years and was with the Bills in the preseason.
