Cornerback Patrick Robinson is one of the few players still available from PFT’s list of the top 100 free agents and his market looks like it will be heating up next week.
Robinson’s agent Kevin Conner told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that his client is scheduled for a visit with the Steelers on Monday. It’s the first visit for Robinson, who is No. 58 on the aforementioned list.
Robinson saw much of his action in the slot for the Saints last season. He played in 14 games, made 39 tackles and intercepted two passes a year after playing in just two games after tearing his patellar tendon.
The Steelers saw Brice McCain sign with Miami last week, leaving them with Cortez Allen, William Gay, Antwon Blake and B.W. Webb at cornerback. That leaves an opening for the right player to earn a fair amount of playing time in the secondary next season and it seems the Steelers think Robinson might be the man for the job.
