The Patriots were active on the waiver wire Wednesday, adding a pair of players to their roster ahead of this weekend’s game with the Titans.
According to multiple reports, New England has claimed wide receiver Leonard Hankerson and tackle LaAdrian Waddle off of waivers. Running back LeGarrette Blount was placed on injured reserve with the hip injury he suffered last Sunday and wide receiver Damaris Johnson was released to create room on the roster for the new arrivals.
Hankerson was waived off of injured reserve by the Falcons on Tuesday because his hamstring injury healed since he was placed on the list earlier this month. Hankerson had 26 catches for 327 yards and three touchdowns in eight games with the Falcons before getting hurt and joins a receiving corps that is still waiting for Julian Edelman to return from a broken bone in his foot.
Waddle started six games at right tackle for the Lions this season after recovering from the torn ACL that brought his 2014 campaign to an early end. Waddle was benched in favor of Michael Ola several weeks ago and should provide depth on a Patriots line that has been shuffling players around all year because of injuries.
