Veteran offensive guard Greg Van Roten will sign a one-year deal with the Patriots, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports.
Van Roten, 36, worked out for the Patriots on Aug. 6.
Patriots backup offensive guard Ben Brown left the team’s preseason opener with an injury and will miss the rest of the preseason.
Van Roten spent the past two seasons as the Giants’ starter at right guard.
He entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Packers in 2012 and has also played for the Panthers, Jets, Bills and Raiders.
Van Roten has appeared in 148 games and made 105 starts.
