Patriots claim TE Cameron Latu, LB Darius Muasau

The Patriots are doing some roster shuffling after setting their initial roster for the 2026 season on Sunday.

The NFL’s transaction report shows that they have claimed tight end Cameron Latu and linebacker Darius Muasau. No corresponding moves were included on the report, but Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that New England will release linebacker K.J. Britt to clear one spot for the new arrivals.

Latu was a 49ers third-round pick in 2023, but spent his rookie year on injured reserve before being cut in 2024. He landed on the Browns’ practice squad and moved on to the Eagles last year.

Latu appeared in 16 games last season and saw most of his action on special teams.

Muasau was a 2024 sixth-round pick by the Giants. He had 106 tackles, a sack and an interception in 27 games for the NFC East club.
