Veteran linebacker Jahlani Tavai is leaving New England.
The Patriots cut Tavai this morning, according to Albert Breer.
The 29-year-old Tavai was a 2019 second-round pick of the Lions but didn’t play well in Detroit, getting cut after two seasons. He signed with the Patriots in 2021 and spent the last five seasons in New England.
The Patriots will save about $1.7 million in salary cap space by cutting Tavai.
