The Patriots hold a 2-0 lead over the Ravens after a safety and a blocked field goal.

Justin Tucker’s 34-yard field goal was blocked by Shea McClellin, who jumped over the long snapper. The kick never had a chance; Tucker was previously 28-for-28 on field goal tries this season.

The safety came after Matthew Slater downed a punt inside the Ravens’ 1-yard line, and the Ravens predictably ran straight ahead. Patriots defensive lineman Malcolm Brown came basically unblocked and dropped Kenneth Dixon a couple yards deep in the end zone.

It was the third safety of the season by the Patriots, the most by any team.

A key intentional grounding call on Tom Brady on the ensuing drive backed the Patriots out of field goal territory.
