The Patriots have lost another key starter for the season.
New England placed kicker Stephen Gostkowski on injured reserve Wednesday because of a thigh injury. He joins defensive end Ty Warren, cornerback Leigh Bodden, running back Kevin Faulk and offensive linemen as notable Patriots that are out for the season.
Gostkowski has been one of the better kickers in the NFL since he was drafted in 2006. Former Bengals kicker Shayne Graham should replace Gostkowski’s field goals well enough, but the Patriots field position will suffer because Gostkowski is one of the best kickoff guys in the league.
