The Patriots will be without one of their primary defensive tackles for at least the next eight games.

The team said Saturday it had placed interior lineman Sealver Siliga on injured reserve/designated to return. Siliga suffered a foot injury in the Patriots’ 16-9 win vs. Oakland last Sunday.

Siliga (6-2, 325) notched 10 tackles in the first three games for New England, making two starts. The 24-year Siliga had played 83 snaps in the first three games, according to Pro Football Focus.

To repace Siliga on the roster, the Patriots signed defensive tackle Casey Walker (6-1, 340) from the Panthers’ practice squad. An Oklahoma product, the 24-year-old Walker has had stints on Carolina’s practice squad in each of the last two seasons.
