The Redskins didn’t have enough go right as a team on the field last Sunday to avoid losing to the Cowboys.
One member of the team also didn’t have enough go right on the field to avoid a fine from the NFL. The league has confirmed to PFT that Redskins linebacker Perry Riley has been fined $15,750 for a hit on Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
Riley hit Romo after the Cowboys quarterback delivered a pass in the first quarter of the game that was deemed to be a personal foul by the officials working the contest. Riley’s hit was a little late and a little high, which is usually all it is ever going to take to draw punishment from the league office.
Cowboys safety Barry Church was not fined by the league after picking up a pair of personal fouls for hits on Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III as Griffin made his way out of bounds on running plays during the game. Griffin admitted this week that he sometimes tries to dupe defenders into such hits, although he said that wasn’t his intent on either of Church’s fouls.
