Jets quarterback Bryce Petty suffered a chest injury when he was hit by both Cameron Wake and Ndamukong Suh of the Dolphins early in the fourth quarter Saturday night.

After the game, Jets coach Todd Bowles told reporters that initial X-rays on Petty were negative but said Petty will undergo further tests on Sunday.

Ryan Fitzpatrick finished the game. If Petty can’t play in the final two games, that gets rookie Christian Hackenberg one step closer to actually playing. Hackenberg was inactive for Saturday night’s game, which the Dolphins won, 34-13.

Petty threw for 235 yards with one touchdowns and two interceptions vs. the Dolphins.
