Previously, our biggest day of the year has been the first day of free agency.
Fueled by the growth of the site resulting from our partnership with NBC and an all-out effort to mobilize the troops in order to catch all the roster cuts, we’re definitely going to break one significant site record on the 2009 version of cut-down day -- and we might break two.
The single-day high-water output for posts previously was 96, from the first day of free agency in 2008. We’re at 88 and counting, thanks to the efforts of Gregg Rosenthal, Tom Curran, Josh Alper, and Evan Silva.
And, amazingly, the single-day traffic record might fall. The current mark is 1.3 million, also from the first day of free agency in 2008. (This year, the Great Hamster Massacre kept us from which easily would have been a 2 million page view day.)
We’re currently on pace for 1.377 million for Saturday, with 1.06 million already in the bag.
