Steelers fans hoping for Troy Polamalu to rescue their sagging pass defense are likely to be disappointed this week.
Polamalu didn’t practice Wednesday. He said he was encouraged by MRI results, but doesn’t anticipate practicing this week. He was asked if he would have to practice to play, “I would think so,” Polamalu said.
The Steelers have won only one game that Polamalu hasn’t finished this season, last week’s win over the Packers.
It sounds like there’s a chance Polamalu could play in Week Seventeen. For the Steelers to still be alive in the playoff hunt, they’ll need to win a second game without him Sunday.
