Terrelle Pryor’s quest to make a successful transition from quarterback to wide receiver will take Pryor to the Jets for a workout next week.
ESPN’s Dianna Russini was first to report that the Jets will take a look at Pryor. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted that the workout is set for next week.
After being released by the Browns last Thursday, Pryor worked out for the Patriots early this week but was not signed.
This is Pryor’s first time on the tryout circuit as a wide receiver. The Browns claimed him via waivers from the Bengals in June, after the conclusion of the team’s minicamp and other spring activities, and released him last Thursday.
It’s uncertain how Pryor might fit with the Jets, who are expecting a boost to their receiving corps from the return of second-round pick Devin Smith for Monday’s game at the Colts. Smith missed nearly all of training camp with broken ribs and a punctured lung; he practiced last week but was held out of the season opener because he hadn’t yet had contact and needed to catch up from missing more than a month.
