Quarterback Cody Fajardo didn’t get drafted last week, but it wasn’t because he failed to produce during his career at Nevada.
Fajardo threw for 9,659 yards and 57 touchdowns and ran for 3,482 yards and 44 touchdowns during his college career to become the second player in Football Bowl Subdivision history to top 9,000 passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards for his career. The other player was Colin Kaepernick during his own time running the Nevada offense.
Fajardo will try to convince the Raiders to hold onto him as a developmental prospect. Christian Ponder and Matt McGloin are the other quarterbacks currently on the roster behind starter Derek Carr.
The Raiders also signed BYU cornerback Rob Daniel, South Florida offensive lineman Quinterrius Eatmon, Utah linebacker Jacoby Hale, Northwester safety Jimmy Hall, Fresno State wide receiver Josh Harper, Purdue tight end Gabe Holmes, Stephen F. Austin running back Gus Johnson, Eastern Washington safety Tevin McDonald, Arkansas linebacker Braylon Mitchell, Florida defensive tackle Leon Orr, Louisiana Tech safety Terrell Pinson, UNLV linebacker Josh Shirley and Delaware State wide receiver Milton Williams.
