The Raiders are struggling with many things right now, but finding and keeping someone to play left tackle is a particular challenge.
According to Scott Bair of CSNBayArea.com, rookie Menelik Watson was held out of practice for a second straight day after tweaking his knee Wednesday.
That caused right tackle Khalif Barnes to shift from right tackle to left, and sub Tony Pashos to take over at right tackle.
Watson was the third attempt at the position, after starter Jared Veldheer tore his triceps and next-man-up Alex Barron played like a turnstile and was released. Of course, Watson hadn’t played left tackle until he was pressed into service in the preseason, so the Raiders weren’t dealing from a position of strength to begin with.
