The Rams made it official Thursday, placing defensive end Robert Quinn on injured reserve ahead of their Thursday night game vs. the Buccaneers.
It was previously announced that Quinn would have back surgery. He last played on Nov. 15.
The No. 14 overall pick in 2011, Quinn had double-digit sacks in each of the last three seasons and 19 sacks in 2013. He had five sacks in eight games this season.
The Rams promoted defensive lineman Doug Worthington to replace Quinn on the roster. Worthington, who’s been on and off the Rams’ roster this season, last played in a game in 2012.
