The Rams aren’t limiting themselves to the losing staff of the AFC Championship Game for a potential new offensive coordinator.

According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams have asked permission to interview Packers quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt for the job as well.

Van Pelt made the move to quarterbacks coach a year ago, when Ben McAdoo left to become the Giants’ offensive coordinator.

The Packers have had success hanging onto assistants in recent years, but it will be interesting to see if Van Pelt wants to go from coaching a sure-thing NFL quarterback to a far less stable situation.
