Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey has withdrawn his appeal, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday, and Bailey will begin serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
Bailey was suspended four games in 2014 for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs, but that suspension was shortened by the NFL and NFLPA’s implementation of a new drug policy in Sept. 2014.
Bailey’s upcoming absence would explain why the Rams had veteran receivers Wes Welker, Hakeem Nicks and Vincent Brown in for a workout on Monday.
Bailey has 12 catches for 182 yards and a touchdown this season, his third with the Rams.
