Rashaad Penny “raring to go” in return from injured reserve

Mike Florio and Mike Golic think Mike Tomlin was right to be furious about the decision to review D.K. Metcalf's catch on Seattle's final drive, which gave the Seahawks more time to set up the game-tying field goal.

The Seahawks put Chris Carson on injured reserve last week and Alex Collins got banged up in Sunday night’s loss to the Steelers, so there’s a need for some help in the backfield in Seattle.

Head coach Pete Carroll is looking to Rashaad Penny to provide some of it. Penny is able to come off of injured reserve this week and Carroll said Monday that he is ready to return to action this week.

“It’s extremely important that he comes back to us now and helps out in the running game and all that,” Carroll said, via Liz Mathews of “I’m really excited for him. It’s been a long year and return and all that for him. It’s been really frustrating for him. He’s really raring to go.”

Penny had two carries for eight yards in the season opener before hurting his calf.
