Giants running back Rashad Jennings returned to practice on Thursday for the first time since spraining his MCL a month ago and he said he felt he was “getting close” to making a full return to action.
It looks like that will have to wait at least another week, however. Jennings practiced again on Friday, but the Giants listed him as doubtful and coach Tom Coughlin said there’s still some uncertainty about Jennings’s ability to hold up to a full workload.
“We just have to make sure he’s ready to compete in a game,” Coughlin said, via ESPNNewYork.com.
Andre Williams and Peyton Hillis had a near 50/50 split of the work in the backfield last Monday night and should be carrying the load against the Seahawks again this week.
Cornerback Zack Bowman is questionable after a bout of stomach flu, but said that he’s going to play on Sunday. That would be good news for a depleted cornerback group and the team will also be waiting to say if defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka and defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins will play after listing them as questionable as well.
