RAVENS BRING BACK BOUMAN

The Baltimore Ravens have re-signed quarterback Todd Bouman, less than a week after cutting him loose. The move reminds us of the 54-man roster game that teams like the Titans played with Chris Simms, and the Saints played with Joey Harrington. The difference is that, because the trade deadline has passed, any vested veteran released by a team must pass through waivers. So any wink-nod-burp-fart arrangement between a player who is released with the intention of being re-signed can be disrupted if another team makes a waiver claim. The Ravens also signed safety Daren Stone, and waived receiver Ernie Wheelright.
