Ravens rookie defensive end Bronson Kaufusi is likely out for the season with a broken ankle, coach John Harbaugh told reporters Thursday.

Kaufusi was carted off the field Thursday after suffering what onlookers believed was a left leg or ankle injury suffered when a teammate fell on him.

A third-round pick last April, Kaufusi was part of an effort by the Ravens to get both younger and better in the pass rush.

Kaufusi, 25, was a three-year starter at BYU and finished his career with 26.5 sacks, the fifth-most in program history. A former basketball player, he also used his 6-foot-6 frame to block four kicks last season.
