The immediate reports following Andre Smith’s departure from Sunday’s victory over the Houston Texans certainly weren’t positive.
First word was Smith had suffered a “significant tear” to his triceps with an MRI set for Monday to determine the severity of the injury.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Smith will require surgery to repair the tear in his upper arm and will be done for the season.
Smith started nine of 11 games this season for the Cincinnati Bengals. He was replaced by Marshall Newhouse on Sunday, who will likely take over the job full-time in Smith’s absence.
