Report: Daryl Washington continues to violate terms of suspension

As much of an impact as he can make on the field, the Cardinals have gotten along fairly well without suspended linebacker Daryl Washington.

And that’s a good thing, as his absence may not be ending anytime soon.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reported that Washington has “continued to have violations” of the league’s drug policy while he’s suspended, and there are concerns that his career may be over. Glazer didn’t specify the nature of those violations.

Washington hasn’t played since the final week of the 2013 season because of multiple violations of the league’s substance abuse policy, but he was eligible to apply for reinstatement last March.

Cards coach Bruce Arians said this summer it was a “waste of breath” to talk about Washington until something changes, and it doesn’t appear he’ll be wasting any more on the topic.
