Report: Jaguars “pushing” to close deal for Blackmon

On the heels of Thursday night’s initial first-round trade, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Jaguars are “pushing” for a deal to secure wide receiver Justin Blackmon out of Oklahoma State.

Jacksonville has been working the phones throughout the day on a deal to move up. Gene Smith has a history of trading up -- he did last year for quarterback Blaine Gabbert -- and the Jaguars’ G.M. has clearly identified Blackmon as this year’s priority.

In order to pull off Blackmon, Jacksonville will likely have to leapfrog the Rams at pick No. 6. So the Buccaneers could have a trade-down partner at No. 5, or the Vikings might have an offer to move down the board for a second time.
