Lions running back Jerome Harrison, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor as part of a physical conducted after he was traded to the Eagles, was scheduled to undergo surgery on Friday, according to the Detroit Free Press.
CSNPhilly.com has reported that Harrison was complaining of recurring headaches during his physical, and the Eagles doctors ordered an MRI, which revealed the tumor.
“Everybody thought it was just a regular headache,” cornerback Chris Houston said. “It was much more than that.”
Harrison, who was traded in 2010 from the Browns to the Eagles and who signed with the Lions as a free agent in 2011, has 1,681 career rushing yards. He gained a career-high 862 for the Browns in 2009, and he had a 50-yard touchdown run in Philly’s 59-28 win over the Redskins last season.
