The Lions will sign free agent wide receiver Jeremy Kerley, ESPN’s Adam Caplan reported Monday.

Kerley, 27, was released by the Jets after five seasons. He caught at least 38 passes and scored at least two touchdowns in three of those five seasons but had just 16 catches last season. Kerley probably figures as a slot receiver and part-time player with the Lions.

Kerley also visited the Chiefs and Bills before agreeing to terms with the Lions.

The Lions previously signed former Bengals wide receiver Marvin Jones after losing Calvin Johnson to retirement. The Lions had visited with Jordan Norwood last week, but the signing of Kerley probably means that Norwood will land elsewhere.
