Bengals quarterback A.J. McCarron suffered a sprained left wrist during Monday night’s loss to the Broncos.
Citing a source, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted Tuesday that an MRI on McCarron’s non-throwing arm revealed no fracture and that there’s still a chance he plays next Sunday vs. the Ravens, though in a separate tweet Rapoport called the sprain “significant.”
The Bengals have clinched the AFC North. They’d only get a first-round playoff bye if they win Sunday and the Broncos lose to the Chargers.
The other healthy quarterback on the roster is Keith Wenning, a 2014 Ravens draft pick who’s never played in a regular season game.
When Andy Dalton fractured his thumb two weeks ago, the Bengals called Christian Ponder and Ryan Mallett, who’s since signed with the Ravens. The team ended up promoting Wenning from the practice squad. The Bengals haven’t provided any timetable on Dalton.
