The Miami Dolphins are already thin at the right guard position with John Jerry still working his way back from a knee injury. Now one of the guys that has been taking his place could miss significant time as well.

According to Jeff Darlington of the NFL Network, Garner badly injured his shoulder during practice on Monday and is out indefinitely.

With Lance Louis still isn’t able to work in team drills as he recovers from a torn ACL last season, it’s left the Dolphins scrambling for options. According to Chris Perkins of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Josh Samuda had been working at right guard before having a poor showing against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week and getting moved back to center. Now with the injury to Garner, Samuda is back at right guard.

Until Jerry or Louis can return, the Dolphins will be working with a patchwork solution on the right side of their line. If Samuda can’t hold up this week against the Houston Texans, Miami may need to explore options out of the organization to fill the hole.
