The investigation of Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott continues. Whether the Cowboys like it or not.

Via A.J. Perez of USA Today, the NFL has sought information from police in Aventura, Florida regarding a February incident between Elliott and the woman who separately has accused him of five incidents of domestic violence in six days in July.

Perez also reports that the NFL indicated to the authorities in Aventura that the alleged victim is cooperating with the NFL, which meshes with a PFT/NBC Sports report from last month that the alleged victim is indeed cooperating.

A late September email from Edward Du Bois of NFL security to the Aventura police indicates that the alleged victim informed the league of the February incident.

Elliott was not arrested in connection with the February incident. Also, Elliott faces no NFL discipline for the February incident, because he had not yet been drafted by the Cowboys. However, as PFT explained recently, behavior occurring prior to a player’s NFL career can be used for the purposes of determining aggravating circumstances, which could result in an increase beyond the baseline six-game suspension for an incident of domestic violence.
