Packers defensive tackle B.J. Raji apparently won’t be visiting the Panthers. Or the Packers. Or anyone else.
According to Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, the veteran defensive tackle is retiring from football.
The reports that the Panthers might be interested in taking a look were the only ones associated with Raji, who will turn 30 this offseason.
But the Packers have apparently been made aware of his plans. They started covering themselves by hanging onto free agent Letroy Guion this offseason, but Raji is still a player whose absence will need to be addressed.
And it’s hard to imagine that the 2009 first-rounder couldn’t have found work if he wanted it, making him the latest player to quit football before football quit him.
