After a long period of silence, Redskins tackle Chris Samuels is finally expected to speak this week.
When he does, the veteran will announce his retirement, according to Jason Reid of the Washington Post. Samuels was warned about his neck injury by a number of specialists, and planned to have another checkup in February.
The loss of the six-time Pro Bowler means Washington will be looking extra hard at Oklahoma left tackle Russell Okung and other blind side protectors with their fourth overall pick in the draft. Samuels was taken third overall by the team in 2000.
