Titans tailback Shonn Greene is reportedly facing several charges after an incident in which he allegedly drove away as he was to be cited for parking in a handicapped spot.
According to Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean, Greene was arrested Friday night and charged with reckless driving and declining an order to stop. He was also cited for the handicapped parking violation, as well as having a suspended or revoked driver’s license.
The alleged incident occurred Friday in Franklin, Tennessee, which is about 20 miles south of Nashville. According to the Tennessean, police said they were unable to stop Greene initially. The Titans were contacted, and Greene was eventually booked and released last night after he turned himself into police, per the newspaper.
“This is not the type of behavior we expect from any member of our organization,” the Titans said Saturday of Greene’s arrest, according to the Tennessean. “We will continue to gather additional information as it becomes available and handle the matter internally.”
The 29-year-old Greene ranks second on the Titans in rushing yards (190) and carries (44). He was listed as probable on the club’s Friday injury report with an ankle ailment.
Greene is in his second season with the Titans, who host Houston on Sunday.
