The Titans have released running back Terrance West, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Saturday.
A third-round pick of the Browns in 2014, West ran for 673 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie. But he spent time in coach Mike Pettine’s doghouse last season and again last summer.
The Browns traded West to the Titans at the end of the preseason. He had 16 carries for the Titans, all in the season’s first two weeks.
The Titans changed coaches this week and named Antonio Andrews their starting running back. With rookie David Cobb soon eligible to return from injured reserve/designated for return, this move was fairly predictable.
The team promoted cornerback B.W. Webb from the practice squad to fill the roster spot vacated by West’s release.
