The Texans are bringing back defensive lineman Mario Edwards.
Edwards was released in March, but Jonathan Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports that the team is signing him after a visit this weekend.
Edwards had 13 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 14 games for the Texans last season, but missed the rest of the year with a torn pectoral. He also appeared in 13 games and made 12 starts for Houston in 2024.
Aaron Wilson of KPRC reports that the Texans will be signing linebacker Sione Takitaki as well. Takitaki worked out for the team on Friday and will help fill in for Jake Hansen, who is out for an indefinite period with an ankle injury.
Takitaki played in three games for the Vikings last year. He has also appeared in 83 games for the Browns and Patriots.
UPDATE 4:03 p.m. ET: The Texans announced the Edwards signing. They have waived running back Evan Hull and offensive tackle Derrick Graham.
